Winter Patrol 2025/2026
Summary of Patrol #3
This patrol was done between the second and third week of December.
The patrol team continued to update the property patrol cards where possible (10 updated this patrol).
12 – Courtesy emails sent during this patrol (1 – Fallen Tree Damaged Eavestrough & Downspout / 1 – Fallen Tree on roof – only minor damage to roof trim / 2 – Fallen Trees – no damage to buildings / 1 – Fallen Branch – No damage to buildings / 7 – Minor Observation).
2 – Courtesy phone calls (1 – Damaged Eavestrough / 1 – Damaged Eavestrough & Downspout).
2 – Special requests from homeowners (1 – check furnace vent lines, inlet and outlet / 1 – other).
There were no incidents to report.
Weather seen at time of patrol
Winter kind’ve arrived with a bit of a vengeance during this patrol. A bit of a delay was required at one point as conditions were not great.
Here were the Point Clark weather conditions:
- Yellow Watch – Snow Squall issued Dec 3-4 – Lake Effect Snow, Snowfall amounts of 20 to 40 cm accompanied by Northwesterly wind gusting 50 to 60 km/h.
- Yellow Warning – Snow Squall issued Dec 10 – Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm with northwesterly winds gusting to 50 km/h.
- Yellow Watch – Snow Squall issued Dec 12-14 – Snowfall accumulations of 20 to 40 cm with westerly winds gusting to 60 km/h. Winds shifting northerly Dec 13.
- Yellow Warning – Snow Squall issued Dec 14 – Snowfall accumulations today of 10 to 15 cm with storm total accumulations of 20 to 40 cm.
- Special Weather Statement issued Dec 18 – Rain tonight (10 to 20 mm) with gusty winds and rapidly falling temperatures. Southerly winds will abruptly become northwesterly with a cold front with gusts of 60 to 80 km/h. Local utility outages are possible.General comments
Incidents
It should be noted that for every incident, the patrollers identify the issue as best they can, take pictures, contact the owners, and, if requested, sends photos to the owners. All of the information is kept/saved both by the patroller and by the Association.
