Summary of Patrol #7 and #8
These two patrols were done in the month of February. And yes, February remained an interesting month when it came to weather.
At the time of writing this Post, it appears that spring has suddenly appeared (15 Celcius) and perhaps the major snow drifts will be disappearing sooner than later.

Summary of Winter Patrol #7 (February 16 through 18)

Weather conditions seen at time of patrol #7
- Special Weather Statement issued Feb 16-18 – Hazardous winter conditions expected Wednesday (Feb 18) with freezing rain and ice build-up of 5 to 10 mm possible. Snowfall amounts near 5 cm.
- Orange Warning – Freezing Rain issued Feb 17-18 – Significant freezing rain likely Wednesday (Feb 18). Ice accretion of 5 to 10 mm likely with easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h.
- Yellow Advisory – Fog issued Feb 17 – Near zero visibility in fog expected over some areas.

Weather conditions seen at time of patrol #8
- Yellow Advisory – Blowing Snow issued Feb 24-25 – Poor visibilty in snow and blowing snow is expected Tuesday evening (Feb 24) continuing into Wednesday (Feb 25). Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm Tuesday evening with additional amounts likely on Wednesday.
- Yellow Warning – Snow Squall issued Feb 25 – Snow squalls currently occuring Wednesday (Feb 25) including 10 to 20 cm of snow with strong westerly winds gusting up to 60 km/h.
- Yellow Warning – Cold issued Mar 1-2 – A period of very cold wind chills is expected Sunday evening (Mar 1) continuing into Monday morning (Mar 2). Wind chill values of -25 to -30 expected.
Incidents
It should be noted that for every incident, the patrollers identify the issue as best they can, take pictures, contact the owners, and, if requested, sends photos to the owners. All of the information is kept/saved both by the patroller and by the Association.
